By Jeremy D. Joy “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also he has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end” (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
Do you feel out of place in the world? Do you feel like you were made for something bigger and better? You are not alone. We sometimes become disappointed and disillusioned because of the injustice and immorality in the world and we dream of a time and place that is more idealistic. Do you know why? God created us with eternity in our hearts. He wants us to feel unsettled in the world. He wants us to yearn for something more. We were fashioned in eternity where God dwells and we can return to that realm through Jesus Christ who came to restore us to the life for which we were originally made (John 10:10). We can be free from the pressure to conform to the world and focus our energy on preparing for our real home in eternity.
